Kyla Aguirre White Owl is a dedicated Cultural Advisor and Community Engagement Specialist with a proven history of advocating for Indigenous communities, promoting sustainability, and fostering cultural competence. As a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and an experienced consultant, she leverages her expertise in cultural preservation, public speaking, and project management to deliver tailored solutions that empower organizations and communities.
Currently pursuing a Masters in Indigenous Peoples Law at the University of Oklahoma, Kyla builds on her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Sustainability Studies from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she graduated Cum Laude. Her academic achievements are complemented by extensive hands-on experience in impactful projects, including advising the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on cultural accuracy, participating in archaeological surveys with the Chickasaw Nation, and supporting the repatriation of Indigenous artifacts and remains.
Kyla has played a pivotal role in organizing educational and cultural events such as Powwows and Indigenous Regalia Awareness initiatives, reflecting her dedication to amplifying Indigenous voices and preserving traditions. She has also contributed to significant advocacy efforts, including supporting initiatives addressing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) and advancing sustainable urban policies at the Cities Summit of the Americas.
With a wealth of experience spanning collaborations with museums, universities, tribal governments, and policymakers, Kyla excels in bridging gaps between institutions and Indigenous communities.
